SAN CLEMENTE, CALIF. – January 25, 2024 – Gilson Daub, a national leading workers’ compensation defense, subrogation, and civil litigation law firm, today announced key partnership and management promotions effective January 1, 2024. The individuals recognized for their outstanding service to the firm are as follows:
- Marisa McBride (Orange County, Calif., Chief Financial Officer) – With Gilson Daub for nearly eight years, McBride previously served as Controller where she oversaw the firm’s growth from locations only in California to now having offices across nine states. Most recently, she guided the firm through its significant expansion across the US, overseeing the finances behind the opening of three new offices in 2023.
- Weston Mills (Missouri, Partner) – As lead of Kansas and Missouri teams and with Gilson Daub since 2018, Mills has achieved significant regional growth for the firm over the past six years. He has been an integral part of the company’s expansion in the Midwest, helping to establish and grow Gilson Daub’s presence and success in the region.
- Steve Hanna (Oklahoma, Partner) – A seasoned attorney with over 30 years of experience, Hanna joined Gilson Daub to start the firm’s Oklahoma City office in July of 2023. In just six months, Hanna not only grew his team and client base significantly, but his office was also the first to establish a civil litigation practice for the firm.
Gilson Daub also promoted Gabe Guerra to Director of Operations of the San Clemente office. In Las Vegas, Jenni Buchanan was promoted to Assistant Staff Manager, and Celeste Kitchen (Advocacy, Subpoenas, E-file departments) and Jennafer Hardy-Smith: (Medicals, Depositions, Calendar departments) were promoted to Team Captains.

These announcements come on the heels of a particularly significant growth period for Gilson Daub: this year has already seen the opening of the firm’s first East Coast office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., while 2023 was marked by three new office openings, an extension into the practice area of civil litigation, and growing the team across the country by more than 26 percent.
