More than doubling staff and caseload over the past year places this office as a top performer within the firm.
Gilson Daub’s Las Vegas office, under the leadership of partner and managing attorney, Matt Smith, has achieved unprecedented growth over the past year both in client matters and team growth. A quick look at the numbers:
- Since September 2022, the office has more than doubled its caseload.
- In the same period, the local team grew from three lawyers and one staff member to seven lawyers and three full-time staff.
- The office has also implemented Gilson Daub’s law school graduate clerkship program, where it hires candidates post-bar/pre-admission to start essential training and hands-on file experience.
When asked about what he attributes this growth to, Matt Smith replied, “The key is putting our clients first, always being responsive, and tenaciously closing cases. Many other local workers’ comp firms have such a large caseload, that they don’t always have the time to be proactive to try and close matters. This is frustrating for clients as they want files closed quickly and efficiently – and they also don’t want to incur the extra legal expenses associated with the length of cases staying open. Here at Gilson Daub, we take on every matter with the goal of resolving it as thoroughly yet as swiftly as possible. We grow our team accordingly to reflect our clients’ needs and to ensure each matter is getting the attention it deserves. The excellent client work also couldn’t be done without an excellent team, which Matt has carefully curated since taking over management of the office in 2018. Together with assistant managing attorney, Jennifer Santana, the leadership duo implements training through direct and explicit processes, curates team building, and prioritizes feedback so that every attorney and staff member can operate at their peak performance level.
