With growth and expansion already underway for the firm in 2021, Gilson Daub is proud to announce the promotion of Alex Chien, Adrianna Maldonado, Nicholas Rosen, and Matthew Smith
A top attorney with Gilson Daub since June of 2018, Alex Chien will now serve as a Partner and Managing Attorney out of the firm’s Long Beach, Calif., office. After graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2010, Chien has exclusively practiced workers compensation defense throughout Southern California since 2011. He has represented numerous national insurance companies and employer accounts at every stage of litigation and is committed to working closely with his clients to expeditiously and competently resolve their cases. Of his legal work, Chien says, “I take pride in working closely with my clients to assist them in whatever manner necessary.” On the personal front, Chien enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching sports, and taking care of his dog.
Proving much success since joining Gilson Daub in January of 2016, Adrianna Maldonado will now serve as a Partner and Managing Attorney out of the firm’s Fresno, Calif., office. A graduate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012, Maldonado strives to use technology to provide the most efficient and successful representation for her clients. “Having experience working with applicants has given me a profound understanding of the best approach and strategy in defense,” she says of her four years at Gilson Daub. Outside of work and during her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places, singing, and running.
Another integral part of the firm’s achievements since joining Gilson Daub in June of 2016, Nicholas Rosen will now serve as a Partner and Managing Attorney out of the San Jose, Calif., office. Post-graduation from Southwestern Law School in 2011, and for the last seven years, Rosen has practiced exclusively in workers’ compensation defense. Noting how he “strives to diligently and aggressively defend all claims– large or small– in an effort to reach the best possible resolution” for his clients, Rosen also enjoys helping clients through the use of cutting-edge technology and consistent communication. When not at work, Rosen enjoys going to Oakland A’s games, volunteering in his wife’s second-grade classroom, and tending to his two rambunctious dachshunds, Molly and Winnie.
Since joining Gilson Daub in January of 2018, Matthew Smith has become an important asset to the trajectory of Gilson Daub. That said, Smith will now serve as a Partner and Managing Attorney out of Gilson Daub’s Las Vegas, Nevada, office. A graduate of the University of Arizona School of Law in 2014, Smith represents clients in all stages of workers’ compensation litigation and “takes pride in working closely with clients to achieve the best results in each case.” Smith also represents clients in subrogation actions and has successfully recovered full lien amounts against third parties. On a personal note, Smith enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his sons’ little league baseball teams – and when he’s not at the office or on the baseball field, you can find him hiking at Red Rock Canyon or camping on Mt. Charleston.
