JoAnna has over a decade of Workers' Compensation defense experience. In that time, she passed the California Certified Specialist Exam and became licensed in Hawaii. She has worked on claims with insurance companies, public entities, self-insured employers, hospitals, and professional sports teams. After a childhood filled with playing defense on her ice hockey team, she has taken what she learned and now aggressively litigates claims for her clients. Outside of the office, JoAnna enjoys sampling international desserts and spending time with her rescue dogs.

Karen Beeman is an attorney who specializes in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. After over a decade of experience working as a paralegal in workers’ compensation defense, she went on to law school and began practicing as an attorney in 2018. She has a broad range of experience in a multitude of jurisdictions and complex claims, which allows her to aggressively defend insurance companies, third party administrators, and employers, achieving cost effective and efficient results. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, baking, reading, and is enthusiastic about learning new things.

Michelle was admitted to the California State Bar and U.S. District Court Eastern District of California in 2021 and has committed her practice to workers’ compensation defense. She received her B.A. in Religious Studies and Juris Doctor degrees from Chapman University. Michelle grew up on a farm in the Central Valley where the value of hard work and dedication was instilled. This background has provided her with the skills necessary to deliver zealous advocacy in representation of her clients, from inception to final resolution of a claim. Michelle understands the importance of cost-effectiveness and ensures that claims continue moving forward toward equitable and expeditious resolution.
Michelle can be described as high-energy and in her free time you can find her skiing, wakeboarding, golfing, running, and riding horses. She also loves giving back to her community and is a board member for the St. Francis Homeless Project where she aims to help women gain employment, maintain sobriety, and practice the skills necessary to become successful and confident in their endeavors. Michelle is always up for adventure and a challenge which makes her an excellent addition to any team.
