Derek Turbin was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended high school at Punahou, graduating in 2002. Derek Turbin is licensed in both California and Hawaii. After practicing litigation and workers compensation for 6 years in California, Derek Turbin returned home to Hawaii to work as a staff attorney at the state legislature for the 2019 legislative session. After the 2019 legislative session, Derek returned to workers compensation to lead our Hawaii office in representing local Hawaii employers for their work comp needs.

Christilei Hessler is trial attorney in the firm’s Honolulu office. Christilei started her legal career as a Fair Housing Attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii before moving into private practice. While working in private practice she simultaneously worked at the Hawaii State Legislature, crafting policies related to workers’ compensation, employment, and labor law.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time in the ocean. She also helps her brother run his startup business Pono Potions, a Hawaiian all-natural latte and cocktail syrup company.
